U S ParaGames 2008 -July 4 & 5th was a big success
U S ParaGames is the signature event for Post 1111 |
Just meeting these positive, sincere, and very enthusiastic people was worth all the work.
Dr. Harriet Enzor brought her enthusiasm not only to the court showing everyone how to play tennis from a wheelchair, but brought a smile to everyone that met her.
She will be back next year for even more tennis! |
Johnathan Greeson is a young man to be admired. He created not only the NCEWHA; North Carolina Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association but also the Carolina Fury Hockey Team.
We look forward to next year having a full hockey game. This year he introduced everyone to PowerHockey with an exhibition. Abled-body persons tried the game from a wheelchair. It takes patience and skill which you will see in the 2009 games! |
| Jim Murray, fencing coach at Johns Hopkins University arrived with all the "bells and whistles" to show everyone how fencing is done from a wheelchair. His son, Andy also a enthusiastic athlete came along to help in this exceptional exhibition. Bryan Baylor, sport reporter Channel 9 News was fascinated with fencing and Jim was able to show him how it was done. All this was captured and shown on Channel 9 evening news! |
